Elaine's Calligraphy Terms and Conditions

By placing an order or making a deposit payment with Elaine's Calligraphy, you are agreeing to accept the following terms and conditions.

Throughout this document, 'we', 'I' and 'us' will refer to Elaine's Calligraphy and 'you' to the client.
Quotes. For commission work quotes are valid for 28 days after the date of issue. If extra services, detail or any additions to the work are requested either prior to the commencement of work or once work has started, these costs will be mutually agreed and added to the original quote.

Deposits and Payments for Commissions. Elaine's Calligraphy requires a 25% non refundable deposit before work will begin on your order. At the time of ordering we will agree a time frame for completion with you. The final balance for the work must be made on completion and prior to collection or shipping. Invoices are to be paid within 7 days.
We can be paid using BACS, PayPal or cash on collection. Details will be provided on your invoice.
Deposits and Payments for Lessons. Once a specific time and date for a lesson is agreed a non refundable deposit of £12 per person is required, with the balance due at the time of the lesson.

Cancellation. Should you need to cancel once work has commenced on your order then you will still be liable for the deposit at the very minimum plus the cost of any work that Elaine's Calligraphy has already completed. If for any reason Elaine's Calligraphy need to cancel then a full refund of any monies paid by you will be refunded.

Extra Materials. If I am hand writing in stationery or on any other items provided by you please ensure there are some spares, this is to accommodate any last minute changes, issues with ink and human error.

Supply of Information. When providing Elaine's Calligraphy with details such as names for seating plans, place cards etc, menus, certificates, wording for poems and generally anything you require to be written in calligraphy please provide us with a typed document, using Word for example, and double check all spelling and grammar. Elaine's Calligraphy cannot be held responsible for errors based on information you have provided. Any additional work we have to complete due to client error will be charged accordingly.
For envelope addressing services please also ensure that information is supplied in a typed format, including titles.

Turnaround Time. Before placing your order with us, we will discuss time frames for completion. Please allow plenty of time or book us in advance so we can guarantee acceptance of your commission. Busy times tend to be wedding season and Christmas. Please take into consideration that items such as long poems or family trees may take a considerable amount of time to complete, so book early if you require a piece for a specific date.

Delivery. Orders may be collected in person at an arranged time. Alternatively we will use Royal mail Special Delivery which is tracked and insured for all commissioned orders, these items will need signing for. Costs of postage for all commissioned work is to be met by you.
Small items bought through my website shop will include free second class postage, this can be upgraded at your own expense by contacting me. Larger items will include Special Delivery in the cost, this will be made clear in the individual listing. Every effort will be made to ensure you receive your delivery in good time, please check you have provided the correct address, that the delivery address can be easily accessed and if a signature is required that there will be someone at the address to sign for the item. Unfortunately, Elaine's Calligraphy can accept no responsibility for items lost or damaged in the post, delays due to strikes or any other circumstances beyond our control.

Designs and Copyright. All designs are copyright of Elaine's Calligraphy. You or a third party are not permitted to copy or reproduce our designs or artwork in any way.

Returns. We hope you will be delighted with your order. Commissioned work is not refundable or returnable as this is made to your own specification and personalised to you and great care will have been taken to liaise with you during the process.

If you are not happy with a pre made item you have purchased through Elaine's Calligraphy website please notify us within 14 days of receiving your order, you can email at: elainesbarker@outlook.com or by calling 07871498827.
Providing the item is returned to us in it's original condition and packaging within 21 days of purchase, once received by us, a refund of the original cost will be processed. All goods must be returned unused and unopened and remain in a sellable condition. Please obtain proof of posting as we cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged in transit. We are unable to refund any postage costs.
